Future Internet is an international peer-reviewed Open Access quarterly journal published by MDPI. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. All manuscripts are refereed through a peer-review process. Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website. Research articles, review articles as well as communications are invited. Papers will be published continuously (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. The Authors are invited to submit papers from diverse fields including Human Computer Interaction, Pervasive Computing, Distributed and Mobile Computing, Sensors and Devices, Building automation, Data analytics for IoT. In this issue we would like to focus on understanding what should be done to improve the IoT awareness to human. This special issue is focused on the evolution from pure machine-to-machine interconnections to machine becoming aware of their environment and of the people. It also includes pervasive and mobile computing, human computer interaction, real world modeling, or human centric validation and experience characterization. The domain is so broad now that it embraces simple sensor or device hardware to complex communication protocols between them. Internet of things (IoT) covers a huge scientific and technical area from RFID technologies to actual ubiquitous systems.
